“I've played this game quite a few times now, including a lot of solo. Very enjoyable.”

— Jacob Fryxelius, Fryx Games

HOW TO PLAY

Each player starts their day by making a choice. Should I go to the office or to the basement? That choice determines which of their decks they draw cards from.

Office cards progress the game by infiltrating higher up the corporate ladder. They also earn some money, help everyone draw cards and make it easier to install viruses, strong permanent cards. They are safer.

Basement cards improve your decks and generate a lot of blocks, which you can also turn into money. They are worse at drawing cards and dealing with threats, but make it easier to infiltrate. They are riskier.

As you play, you are forced to draw Encounter cards, unwanted attention as a result of illegal activities. You have to play them eventually, but you decide when. As long as you don't have too many, there is often a way to dodge the threats together. But pile on too many, and someone might end up in jail.

If all players only draw office cards, you are likely to lose slowly. If all players only draw basement cards, you are likely to lose quickly. Somewhere in between is a path to victory.

Each character has their own stats and is better suited for certain playstyles. High Voice characters are manipulative and cool, excellent at climbing the corporate ladder. High Mind characters are cunning and experienced, adept at turning blocks into money and installing viruses. High Will characters are driven and draw many cards.

At the end of each day, you must pay rent. If you can’t, you lose. Then a new day begins, and players again chose which of their decks to draw cards from. The moment any player is promoted to CEO, everyone wins.

NEXT EDITION

The original edition used AI-assisted artwork. We don't want the next one to.

We are planning a Kickstarter that will fund the artwork and production of a new physical edition. When the Kickstarter goes live, more artwork will be finished for you to see.

If you prefer real art over AI-generated images, consider signing up to the waiting list for the Kickstarter below.

COMMUNITY

Blockminers is a small game with a growing community of players.

The Discord is where we organise games, discuss strategies, share ridiculous card combinations and show what we're working on for the new edition.

We're always open to new ideas. When a community card idea makes it into the game, the original creator is credited.

ABOUT

Blockminers started with the desire to capture the emotions of power, secrecy, and paranoia as a game. Hackers have always fascinated me as the wizards of our time, and the cyberpunk genre allows us to take the problems we see in the world today and dial them up to 11.

We're not a large publisher. Over 8 years and over many playtests, this game has grown slowly but steadily thanks to our shared commitment to this game and what it stands for.

If you want to help out, the best thing you can do is play the game with your friends and have fun. If you have time for more, leaving reviews on BoardGameGeek and joining the Discord server mean a ton. At this stage, every review and member makes a huge impact.

Infiltrate CapitAll

The year is 2084. The world is run by banks and large corporations. All hope rests on a few renegade hackers, banded together as Blockminers.
